What We Believe
- We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writing, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. II Peter 1:19-21; II Timothy 3:16-17.
- We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Ex. 20:2-3; Gen. 1:1; John 10:30; I Cor. 8:6; Matt. 28:19.
- We believe in the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; that He was divine as no other man can be, being very God of very God, existing from all eternity co-equal with the Father and the Spirit; that He never ceased to be God for one instant and that His humiliation did not consist in laying aside His deity; that as a man He was miraculously begotten of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. John 1:1-2; Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:18-23: Col. 2:9; I John 5:20.
- We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with the Father and Son and of the same substance and nature; that lie convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment, bears witness to the truth is the agent of the New Birth and that He seals, endues with power; guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies and helps the believer, indwelling every true Child of God. II Core 13:14; Jn.14:16-17; Romans 8:14-27.
- We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, including all life, “each after its own kind” by direct creation in accordance with the Genesis account of six literal days and not by the process of evolution. Gen. 1:2; Col. 1:16; John 1:3.
- We believe in the distinct personality of Satan, that he is the unholy god of this age, author of all powers of darkness and sin and is destined to the judgment of an eternal justice in the lake of fire. II Cor. 4:4; Matt. 4:1-3; Rom. 8:14,27; Rev. 20:10.
- We believe that man was created in the image of God, and that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death which is separation from God and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners by word, thought and deed. Gen. 1:27; Rom. 5:12; 6:23; I Cor. 15:22.
- We believe that faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition for salvation from sin, and this salvation is wholly of grace; that no works, however good, make that salvation more secure. We believe that the lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. Acts 13:38; 16:31; Rom. 4:5; 8:35-39, Eph. 2:8-9; Philippians 1:6; Gal. 2:16.
- We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become Children of God, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and preserved unto the day of redemption. John 3:5; 10:28; I Peter 1:23; Romans 8:35-39.
- We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate. Rom. 1:14; Luke 24:39; Acts 1:9; Heb. 7:25; I John 1:21.
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the conscious everlasting punishment of the lost. John 5:26; I Thess. 4:16, Rev. 5:21-30; 20:4-5.
- We believe in the blessed hope and personal, pre-millenial and immanent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I Thess. 1:9; 4:13-18; 5:1-11; Matt. 24:24-29; Jude 14: Rev. 19:11-21.
- We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches, composed only of members who are and have been baptized by immersion, is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. Acts 2:41; 4:I7; 18:8; 20:17; 22;16; I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:2-11.
- We believe that all the saved are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices, and are under obligation to all the world, by life and deed and word to the truth and proclamation of the Gospel. Rom. 12:1; II Cor. 5:14-18; Acts 1:8.
